Overview

Taipei European School welcomes applicants for the position of Primary Teacher in the British Primary Section of Taipei European School to commence in August 2026.  

We are looking for candidates whose dynamism, commitment, energy, professional expertise and experience qualify them to take on this exciting and challenging role. The successful candidate will be an excellent teacher, communicator, and a capable and inspiring leader who fully understands the commitment required of all staff in our busy and unique school.

  • Interviews will be scheduled for the week starting 24th November 2025. 

Please note that a recorded lesson segment of 20 minutes will be required as part of the interview process and should be available for the week of interview. The lesson should not be more than 6 months old.   

Primary Purpose

Teachers at Taipei European School (TES) put student learning and wellbeing at the centre of all they do. TES teachers are reflective practitioners who build positive relationships, collaborate with colleagues, and work closely with parents to support each child’s progress.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:  Teaching & Learning
  • Set high expectations that inspire, motivate, and challenge all students.
  • Plan and teach engaging, well-structured learning experiences aligned with curriculum expectations.
  • Use a range of effective teaching strategies, including digital tools, to personalise learning and support diverse student needs.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of the curriculum and continuously update professional skills.
  • Promote strong progress and high-quality outcomes in students’ learning.
Assessment & Feedback
  • Use formative and summative assessments to monitor attainment and progress.
  • Provide timely, purposeful feedback to support students in improving their learning.
Classroom Environment & Behaviour
  • Create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Manage behaviour effectively to ensure a respectful and orderly classroom culture.
Professional Responsibilities
  • Engage in continuous professional learning and be open to feedback.
  • Actively contribute to teamwork, curriculum development, and the wider life of the school.
  • Communicate effectively with parents to support student learning and wellbeing.
Professional Conduct
  • Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and ethical behaviour at all times.
  • Uphold TES values, policies, safeguarding expectations, and statutory requirements.
  • Model respect, tolerance, and global citizenship within our international community.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor of Education, PGCE, or Master’s in Education (or equivalent).
  • Valid government-issued teaching certification.
  • Minimum two years of successful teaching experience (preferred).
  • Skilled in integrating technology and digital learning tools to enhance teaching and student engagement.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of effective pedagogy and child development.
  • Commitment to educating the whole child—academically, socially, and emotionally.
  • Experience with the International Primary Curriculum (preferred)
