About the Role
BEC is seeking an experienced Civil Site Engineer to join our Taiwan operations for the Talin LNG Project, where BEC is responsible for the civil works of two 180,000 kilolitre cryogenic LNG storage tanks at CPC's Kaohsiung Intercontinental LNG Terminal.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse team of specialists delivering complex, large-scale infrastructure using advanced construction techniques. The role will suit a technically strong engineer with LNG tank or heavy civil structure experience who thrives in a collaborative, safety-focused, and high-performance environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate civil and structural works for LNG cryogenic storage tanks, including foundation, concrete, and structural elements.
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Plan daily work sequences and monitor progress to ensure schedule adherence and quality compliance.
- Conduct inspections to ensure all work meets technical and safety standards.
- Collaborate closely with construction, QA/QC, and HSE teams to resolve site challenges.
- Prepare site reports, progress documentation, and as-built records.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and technical standards throughout all phases of construction.
- Liaise with project stakeholders, subcontractors, and suppliers to resolve technical issues and keep progress on track.
- Support continuous improvement and promote BEC's safety and quality culture on site.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in civil works on large-scale industrial or energy projects.
- Previous involvement in LNG, petrochemical, or cryogenic tank construction preferred.
- Strong understanding of concrete works, rebar, formwork, and tank foundation systems.
- Familiarity with international construction standards and safety procedures.
- Excellent coordination and communication skills.
- Mandarin (speaking and writing) preferred to facilitate collaboration with local stakeholders and site teams.
- Ability to work in Kaohsiung on a full-time project site basis.
