WHAT YOU'LL DO:
We are seeking an experienced Compliance officer to join our Taiwan office. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring our equity and derivatives trading activities adhere to all relevant local regulations and Optiver's internal standards. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of local market rules and regulations, and the ability to effectively provide trusted compliance support in a fast-paced environment. You will report to the Taiwan Head of Compliance. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Monitor and assess regulatory developments, evaluate applicability, and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide compliance advice for adherence to local regulations and global internal minimum standards and risk appetite.
  • Support entity and employee licensing, registration, and training coordination.
  • Undertake or support the relevant functions in regulatory reporting.
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures to meet external and internal requirements.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders on various compliance matters e.g. risk and control reviews, training, surveillance, new business initiatives, and incident management.
  • Liaise with FSC, Exchanges, industry associations for regulatory matters and onsite audits.
  • Primarily responsible for performing Internal Audit (IA) duties to fulfil onshore regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate and maintain the firm's internal control system based on the regulatory prescribed templates.
  • Assist company secretary in corporate governance matters as needed.
  • Foster a culture of compliance by promoting awareness and ethical conduct throughout the organization.

WHO YOU ARE:

  • A relevant bachelor's degree.
  • Futures Specialist license (or obtain within 3 months after joining).
  • Minimum 2+ years in a Compliance or Internal Audit role in a securities or futures firm.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Effectively communicate with business stakeholders and local regulators.
  • Strong verbal and written communication in English and Mandarin.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional ethics, integrity, and commitment to upholding the highest standards of compliance and professionalism.
