Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Interface Engineer to join our dynamic team specializing in railway systems. As the Interface Engineer, you will be responsible for assisting and supporting the preparation, coordination, and conclusion of the overall System Engineering, System Interface, and activities according to the contract and relevant rules and guidelines, and execution of the Project, the Tainan Monorail Blue Line. The overall objective is that all systems parameters and civil work's coordination are met, and the basic design of the system is overall functional as per the technical specification, customer’s needs, and internationally applied engineering rules.

Egis will provide design services related to Railway Systems and you will assist onshore in delivering the Project successfully both on coordination aspects and technical aspects.

  • Project Support: Provide assistance to the interface manager to assist the interface manager in acting as the point of contact for interfacing matters between partner/client with back-office team for all technical matters. Performs an administrative role facilitating and coordinating the civil engineering works with the rail systems works.
  • Offer assistance in the communication channel between the technical team and the local project stakeholders via CN-EN and EN-CN translations – written and spoken.
  • Technical Analysis: Assist in conducting technical analysis and evaluations to assess the performance and reliability of railway systems, including signaling, Rolling Stock, electrification, communication systems, platform screen doors, operation control system and track switches. Assist the E&M system in finding interface solution.
  • Documentation: Assist in the preparation and review of project documentation, including engineering drawings, specifications, reports, proposals, review comments and responses.
  • Coordination: Assist in leading coordination of multidisciplinary activities with the internal and external project teams, including engineers, technicians, and public authorities, to ensure project objectives are met on time.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols in all project activities.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential interface risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project delays and cost overruns.
  • Client Liaison: Maintain regular communication with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities to address project technical requirements and resolve issues effectively – translation between Chinese and English both written and spoken.
  • Training and Development: Continuously update technical knowledge and skills through training programs and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil, electrical or mechanical engineering
  • Master's degree is a plus.
  • Experience in technical engineering and interface management as well as professional experience in requirements management including verification and validation, RAM, Safety, operational aspects, EMC, earthing and bonding, test & commissioning etc
  • Good knowledge of railway systems, technologies and related civil interfaces is an advantage
  • Technical knowledge of civil engineering construction and requirements pertaining to rail systems work Knowledge of engineering processes and standards associated with this, e.g., EN 50126, EN50128, EN50129.
  • Good management, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities with a diplomatic approach.
  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Quick learner to be autonomous and proactive attitude – anticipating issued and preparing in advance
  • A keen eye and attention to detail with good analytical skill and ability to summarise key and salient points
  • Ability to work in an international context – Good level of English and Chinese (Traditional)-Mandarin (speaking & writing)
  • Ability to work under pressure with good working attitude
  • Must be willing to travel for work
