We are supporting a respected multinational corporation that is committed to fostering a positive, engaging and productive work environment. We are now seeking a strategic and experienced Head of Employee Relations to lead internal communication and employee relations efforts in Taiwan.
This role is pivotal in ensuring our employee relations processes are managed with fairness, consistency, and in full compliance with local legislation. The ideal candidate will be a trusted advisor to senior leadership and a skilled communicator who can navigate complex situations with tact and professionalism.
The successful calibre will be expected to,
- Develop and execute a comprehensive employee communication strategy aligned with global HR and business objectives.
- Act as the primary liaison and build trust-based relationships with with key internal and external stakeholders, including senior business leaders, HR teams, labour unions, employee representatives, legal firms, and government labour departments.
- Provide expert guidance and oversight on critical ER processes, including disciplinary actions, grievance handling, and collective consultation.
- Support large-scale organizational changes, such as restructuring and redundancy programs, from a communication and ER perspective.
- Proactively identify, assess, and manage employee-related risks across the Taiwan market.
- Translate local labour legislation into pragmatic, actionable policies and ensure all activities are fully compliant.
- Educate and train HR teams and People Leaders on effective employee communication and ER policies.
- Keep the organization updated on employment law changes and their implications for the business.
Successful candidates should possess,
- Degree holder with renowned university
- Proven, hands-on experience in managing relationships and negotiations with labour unions and works councils in Taiwan.
- Extensive experience in Employee Relations, Internal Communications, or a related HR leadership role within a complex multinational organization.
- Demonstrated excellence in managing a wide range of stakeholders, from senior executives to external legal counsel and government officials.
- Strong investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- High degree of integrity and discretion when handling confidential information.
- Ability to operate strategically while managing critical tactical operations.
- Deep understanding of labour law and the regulatory environment in Taiwan.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both Mandarin and English.
