Description
The School District of La Crosse is accepting applications for a 1.0 FTE Summer School & Instructional Services Coordinator for the District with a projected start date of January 19, 2026.

Employment Status: 260 Days, Nonunion Salary

Licensure: Must hold a valid state teaching license.
Preferred, but not required:
Valid WI Administrator License

Position Summary
The Summer School Coordinator & Instructional Services is a dynamic district-level leader responsible for the planning, implementation, and management of key instructional programs. This role works in close collaboration with the Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment to align all duties in support of strategic district initiatives. As a year-round position, the coordinator is central to advancing student achievement and professional excellence by overseeing K-12 summer school programming, leading the onboarding and mentorship of new professional staff, and other instructional projects as assigned. The ideal candidate is a visionary educator with exceptional organizational skills and a passion for fostering growth in both students and staff.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Summer School Coordination (K-12)

  • Plan and develop the district's comprehensive K-12 summer school program, including credit recovery, enrichment, and intervention courses.
  • Coordinate all logistical aspects of summer school, including student registration, master scheduling, facility allocation, and resource management.
  • Recruit, hire, and supervise all summer school staff, providing orientation and ongoing support.
  • Manage the summer school budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility and proper allocation of funds.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding program details, schedules, and expectations.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness through data analysis and feedback to guide future improvements.

New Staff Onboarding And Mentorship

  • Design and facilitate a comprehensive onboarding program for all new certified staff, covering district culture, policies, curriculum, and instructional expectations.
  • Administer the district's mentorship program, including the recruitment, selection, and training of highly effective mentor teachers.
  • Develop and deliver professional development grounded in adult learning principles for both mentors and new teachers throughout the school year.
  • Provide ongoing support and coaching to mentors, coaches and new educators to accelerate their professional growth and promote retention.
  • Collaborate with building principals to monitor the progress of new staff and ensure they receive adequate support.

Other Duties
Upon joining our team, you will work in close collaboration with the Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment to support the District's Instructional Office. To create a balanced and effective partnership, specific responsibilities and projects will be strategically assigned based on your unique strengths and experience. Potential duties may include coordinating instructional technology platforms, managing Title I, II, and IV programs, collaborating with key colleagues around Multi-Leveled System of Support (MLSS), or serving as the District Assessment Coordinator (DAC).

Experience
Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of successful K-12 classroom teaching experience.
  • Previous experience in a teacher leadership, instructional coaching, or administrative role is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in program coordination, professional development facilitation, and technology integration.

Licensure
Must hold a valid state teaching license.
Preferred, but not required:
Valid WI Administrator License
