Position Description/CITI Summary
The Research Center for Information Technology Innovation (CITI), Academia Sinica, in Taiwan, invites highly qualified individuals to apply for tenure-track faculty positions in the general areas of computer science and electrical engineering. The current hiring includes the positions of assistant research fellow, associate research fellow, research fellow, and distinguished research fellow, which are equivalent to the ranks of assistant, associate, full, and distinguished professorship in universities, respectively.
Academia Sinica is the national academic research institution in Taiwan and conducts research on a broad spectrum of subjects in science and humanities. The Research Center of Information Technology Innovation (CITI) is committed to high quality research in information science and technology. In addition to research funding supported by Academia Sinica, external funding through government agencies and industry-sponsored institutions is also available
Qualifications and Duties
We are particularly looking for candidates in data science, AI, IoT, systems, networking, security, machine learning, and IT-related multi-disciplinary research areas. Candidates for the position of research fellow should have a Ph.D. degree in computer science or closely related fields with a good research background and publication record. Senior candidates must demonstrate strong leadership, and have an international reputation evidenced by publications, patents, industrial practical experience, or other academic and scholarly achievements. Academia Sinica is a research-oriented institute and teaching duties are not required.
Rank and Benefits
The application will be reviewed upon receipt. The rank and salary are commensurate to candidate qualifications. Additional salary support up to 45% from the Advancement of Outstanding Scholarship and at least NT$30000 from NSTC (National Science & Technology Council) is available for applicants with exceptional qualifications. Subsidized housing is also available for the first seven years.
