Category Development Manager.
Purpose: The Category Development Manager is responsible for driving trade marketing strategy, sales force effectiveness, and commercial operations to maximize sell-out performance and strengthen ACUVUE brand leadership across Taiwan's optical retail, Modern Trade, and HP/GP.
This role bridges Marketing, Sales, and Finance to ensure strategic alignment, operational discipline, and executional excellence across trade programs, SFE initiatives, and integrated business planning that strengthen Johnson & Johnson Vision's leadership in Taiwan's contact lens market.
You Will Be Responsible For
- Channel Strategy & Business Planning
- Develop annual trade and channel strategies aligned with brand and business priorities.
- Define promotional calendars, customer segmentation, and investment frameworks.
- Partner with Marketing and Sales to translate brand equity plans into in-market execution strategies.
- Trade Promotion & Campaign Management
- Lead the design and execution of trade programs, sell-out campaigns, and promotional toolkits.
- Manage and evaluate trade marketing investments (ROI tracking, budget allocation).
- Develop message plans and sell-in decks to ensure consistent customer communication.
- Collaborate with key account and field teams to tailor activation plans by channel and customer.
- Retail Execution & Visibility
- Oversee POSM, visual merchandising, and in-store execution excellence to ensure brand consistency.
- Partner with field teams to monitor compliance, visibility KPIs, and campaign performance.
- Sales Force Effectiveness & Commercial Performance Management
- Lead SFE (Sales Force Effectiveness) initiatives including coverage model optimization, target setting, and territory management.
- Design and manage incentive schemes to drive sales team motivation and performance.
- Own IBP forecast alignment with Finance and Supply Chain; ensure commercial inputs for demand planning.
- Oversee trade marketing budget management, resource allocation, and monthly operation meetings.
- Support the development and execution of EMP (Enterprise Management Process) and other operational governance routines.
- Data, Insights & Cross-functional Leadership
- Establish dashboards to track sell-in/sell-out performance, ROI, and key commercial KPIs.
- Leverage data to guide business decisions, identify opportunities, and optimize resource deployment.
- Drive collaboration across Marketing, Sales, and Finance for strategic and operational alignment.
- Lead and develop a high-performing trade marketing and commercial operations team.
- Oversee administrative processes related to trade marketing programs, vendor management, and compliance.
Qualification/ Requirement
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or related field (MBA preferred).
- 8–12 years of progressive experience in Trade Marketing, Commercial Operations, or SFE within FMCG, Healthcare, or Optical industry.
- Proven leadership experience managing both strategic planning and operational execution teams.
