Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a non-Taiwanese International PhD Research Fellow at National Chung Cheng University in Chiayi County, Taiwan. The Research Fellow will be responsible for conducting high-quality research in AI, deep learning, smart city applications including environment monitoring, smart traffic, and UAV design with edge-AI system, collaborating with faculty members, publishing research findings, and participating in academic conferences and seminars.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 SCI papers, with at least one paper in Q1 WOS SCI journals (Scopus not counted).
  • 2 Recommendation letters, one from your PhD supervisor and another one from your current employer or anyone who is familiar with your expertise and experiences.
  • Approval for Re-Recruitment: Need to publish at least 2 SCI papers in the first year (one of which is in Q1 SCI journal) and at least 4 SCI papers (two of which are in Q1 SCI journals) annually starting from the second year.
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team

Salary

  • Around NT$80K per month, similar to an assistant professor salary in Taiwan. Actual salary depends on qualification and the final decision of the university evaluation committee.
