MSF Taiwan is looking for its General Director; an exceptional opportunity to lead one of the fastest-growing sections within the MSF movement.
With an institutional budget of €17 million and a committed team of 45 colleagues, MSF Taiwan is undergoing dynamic growth and expanding its influence. The office engages across the full spectrum of institutional activities, from fundraising and communications to emergency preparedness, all within a vibrant and strategically significant regional environment.
This position is ideally suited for an accomplished leader (such as a General Director, Deputy Executive Director, or equivalent) with a demonstrated ability to drive organizational growth across strategic, operational, and cultural dimensions within MSF.
Major Responsibilities
The successful candidate will bring:
- Strategic vision and leadership across fundraising, communications, emergency preparedness and internal capabilities.
 - Experience in risk management within ambiguous and fast-changing contexts and in emergency preparedness.
 - A strong ability to navigate complex external environments and foster meaningful partnerships within MSF movement and externally.
 - Operational understanding in supporting preparedness for emergency responses, ensuring alignment with MSF's humanitarian and medical mandate.
 - A commitment to MSF's values and mission, with the agility to adapt and lead in a rapidly evolving landscape.
 
Requirements
- University Graduate.
 - Minimum 15 years of working experience, with at least 5 years in MSF, including some operational experience in humanitarian settings.
 - Significant senior managerial experience, including managing staff, directing similar organization and/or working at senior level in a large NGO.
 - A deep understanding of the humanitarian field, and a strong commitment to the humanitarian principles of MSF.
 - Evidence of experience in and knowledge of Asia, as well as a good reading of Asian, and especially Chinese, culture.
 - Ability to foster a creative, professional, collegial, open-door management culture; to empower staff members and encourage staff to challenge assumptions.
 - Strong sense of initiative.
 - Willingness and ability to travel extensively within Asia, to Europe, and elsewhere.
 - Fluent in English with excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
