As the Lead Engineer CMF at Logitech Far East Ltd, you are a member of the global CMF engineering team. You will be the CMF technology in-house expert in Hsinchu, Taiwan.
Your primary focus will be to manage the CMF technology portfolio, stretching the envelope to deliver CMF innovation and New Product Introductions (NPIs) of webcam products. Your technical background and experience allow you to make recommendations, discuss them with a team of seasoned engineers, and drive successful implementation. You are passionate about products and delivering amazing experiences to enhance the life of millions of people as they create and interact everyday with digital content.

- Implement and conduct innovation ideas for Logitech, and lead or support CMF technology projects to enable product attributes like customer diversity, inclusivity, sustainability, and customization.
Partner with Product Marketing, Industrial Design (ID), Mechanical Engineering (ME), and CMF design to perform CMF engineering design of new products. This includes:
Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Statistical Process Control (SPC), and Design of Experiments (DOE).
- Performing materials selection, trial, and qualification.
Conducting painting, printing, plating, and other CMF process trials.
Translate ID/CMF design into engineering design and specification.
- Be the Keeper of the engineering design quality to enable CMF process capability in trials and Mass Production (MP), systematically solving problems throughout the define, approve, develop, and qualify stages of new CMF.
- Synthesize and present data and ideas logically.
- Manage and partner with molding and CMF-related suppliers to ensure smooth CMF process ramp-up and Mass Production for NPI.
- Skilled auditor according to ISO, and maintain a proactive partnership with key CMF suppliers.
- Support on-going supplier audit for new tech and cost-down on existing tech.
- Co-develop, support design for advanced manufacturing, and transfer CMF innovation to manufacturing.
- Troubleshoot on-site and support product projects.
- Provide CMF consulting, training, and support to the Hsinchu site (ME, QA, Commodity, Project Managers, etc.).
- Work in a global cross-functional team with designers, mechanical engineers, product managers, quality engineers, procurement, operations, and manufacturing partners/vendors.
- Organize and facilitate deliverables readiness plan per milestone reviews with internal stakeholders for each project.
- Support marketing and designers on CMF design, acting as a source of technical expertise.
Key Qualifications:
For consideration, you must bring the following minimum skills and experiences to our team:
- Familiar with materials know-how and technology (plastic, metal, composites, flexible technology, and so on).
- Experienced in color/appearance management techniques and finishing techniques like printing, painting, In-Mold Decoration (IMD).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Fluent English (reading, speaking, and writing) is required
- Good communication skills to act as the CMF consultant and CMF technical influencer.
- Creative CMF engineering design in the early phase of product concept.
- Mature problem-solving skills on complex technical issues.
- Attention to details and flexibility in a fast-moving environment.
- Being able to work efficiently in a global, multi-cultural team and willing to travel.
- A proficient knowledge of various manufacturing processes is a benefit for innovation.
- You are curious about new CMF innovations, open to pushing new boundaries, and can anticipate and plan ahead.
Education:
- BS/BA degree in mechanical, chemical, or material engineering and sciences.
- 5 years experience as a CMF/ME engineer OR experience in molding, painting, printing, or plastic decoration.
- 2 years experience in managing suppliers in high-volume production; small batch manufacturing experience is a plus.
