Job Summary
We are hiring a Financial Controller to lead finance for our Taiwan entities and serve as the primary interface to Group Finance (Singapore). You will own statutory reporting under Taiwan GAAP (TIFRS), drive group consolidation under IFRS, and prepare US GAAP bridges for group/SEC reporting as required. The role blends rigorous compliance and governance with forward-looking strategic planning and hands-on business partnering to drive performance, control, and value creation.
Key Responsibilities
1) Financial Reporting, Consolidation, Policies, Controls & Assurance
- Own the full accounting cycle and monthly/quarterly/annual close under TIFRS, ensuring on-time, accurate reporting.
- Prepare the Taiwan reporting package for group consolidation; lead IFRS adjustments and any US GAAP reconciliations.
- Ensure compliance to group accounting manuals and finance policies; localize for Taiwan while maintaining HO reporting.
- Design, implement, and monitor FCTR/SOX-aligned controls (incl. ITGC); remediate gaps with action plans.
- Drive continuous improvement across close, consolidation, and reporting (automation/RPA/BI) to shorten cycle times and improve data quality.
- Train finance and cross-functional teams on policy updates and TIFRS/IFRS/US GAAP implications to sustain compliance and governance.
- Coordinate external audits/reviews and provide PBCs; maintain audit-ready documentation and balance sheet substantiation.
- Familiarity with FSC/TWSE/MOPS filing formats and local disclosure requirements is advantageous.
2) Compliance, Governance & Risk
- Ensure timely and accurate compliance with Taiwan tax (CIT, VAT, WHT), statutory filings, company law, and regulatory submissions.
- Uphold corporate governance standards, group ethics/compliance guidelines, and approval/authorization matrices with strong documentation.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate financial/operational/compliance risks; maintain a country risk register with remediation plans and status tracking.
3) Strategic Planning & Business Partnering
- Co-lead annual budget, rolling forecasts, and long-range plan; deliver variance analysis, scenarios, and KPI dashboards.
- Partner with Country GM/Sales/Operations on pricing, promotions, channel mix, capex, and cost optimization; develop business cases (ROI/NPV).
- Provide insights on revenue quality, margin drivers, cash conversion, and working capital; translate analytics into actionable plans.
4) Treasury, Cash & Working Capital
- Forecast liquidity; manage cash flow and optimize working capital (AR/AP/inventory) against group targets.
- Oversee local banking, payment controls, and FX exposure/hedging; ensure compliance with group treasury and intercompany policies.
5) Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop the Taiwan finance team; foster a culture of integrity, collaboration, control, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance; CPA/ACCA (TW/US/SG or equivalent) strongly preferred.
- 10+ years progressive accounting/finance experience, including 3–5 years in a managerial/lead finance role within MNCs.
- Strong technical command of TIFRS and IFRS, with practical experience preparing/assessing US GAAP is a plus.
- Demonstrated track record in compliance, governance, and internal controls where SOX compliance exposure is a plus.
- Proven capability in strategic planning and business partnering, budgeting/forecasting, commercial analytics, and performance management.
- Advanced Excel (modelling, pivots, complex formulas) and working knowledge of Power BI;consolidation experience and experience with Xero is a plus.
- Fluent Mandarin and English with strong written and verbal communication skills for HQ and cross-functional stakeholders.
