About the Job

The Localization Group is responsible for the multilingual production of Rakuten Travel's global

website. We ensure that localized versions are clear, natural, and optimized for each target

audience.

As the Traditional Chinese (Taiwan) Language Specialist, you will be responsible for translating,

proofreading, and improving the quality of localized English content. You will ensure our products

are commercially ready, accurate, and appealing to the target audience in Taiwan. You will follow

established guidelines and work collaboratively with the Localization Group to ensure timely

delivery of high-quality localized content.

・Location: Taipei Office

Responsibilities:


• Translate from English into Traditional Chinese (Taiwan) for website copy, marketing materials,

and other content.


• Proofread and edit Traditional Chinese (Taiwan) content drafted by vendors and stakeholders.


• Maintain and improve the quality of the Traditional Chinese (Taiwan) version of our content,

including website checks and maintaining language-specific resources like glossaries and style

guides.


• Participate in language quality initiatives to standardize and improve translations.


• Provide feedback to vendors to ensure consistent quality and adherence to guidelines.


• Assist with localization projects in cooperation with other departments.


• Communicate with relevant teams to ensure compliance with linguistic and cultural standards.

Requirements:


• Native-level fluency in Traditional Chinese (Taiwan).


• Full Professional Proficiency in English.


• Bachelor's degree in Translation, Linguistics, or a related field.


• Minimum 1-2 years of full-time experience in localization, translation, or a related field.


• Strong computer skills, including CAT tool use.


• Strong business focus, proactive attitude, and sense of initiative (both independently and

collaboratively).

Preferred Skills:


• Experience working in the travel, hospitality, e-commerce, or related industries.


• Experience in project management.
